Thai Massage

Thai Massage

Often referred to as “yoga massage,” Thai Massage (Nuad Boran) is an ancient healing system from Thailand that combines passive yoga movements, stretches, massage, and acupressure, which are applied to energy lines on the body (called ‘sen’ in Thai medicine). The underlying intention of Thai massage is to access energy lines in the body, which in turn allows the body to be more balanced, flexible, and open. Thai massage is given on a mat on the floor, with the client dressed in loose, comfortable clothing.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and is performed fully clothed wearing loose comfortable clothing on a mat on the floor. Shiatsu uses finger pressure, palm pressure,

facilitated stretching and range of motion along the meridian lines of the body. Chi (Ki) can become stagnant, blocked, depleted or in over abundance causing disharmony ( dis-ease ) in the body. Shiatsu is a practice that facilitates the movement of Chi allowing the body, mind and spirit to come to a state of balance and harmony.

Acupressure points that are used are the same as that are used in acupuncture treatments, only in Shiatsu the entire meridian is addressed using gentile pressure.

Thai Foot Massage

Thai Foot Massage:

Thai Foot Massage is a method of foot reflexology that utilizes reflexology techniques that derive from China and India, and has developed into a specialized style of footwork in Thailand. This technique includes a rose petal foot soak, followed by a deeply relaxing and rigorous foot massage, pressure point work, percussion (tapotement) techniques, and massage to the calves and lower legs. Benefits include alleviating tension in specific areas of the body, deep relaxation, relief of soreness and tension in the feet, and assists with relieving insomnia and promoting restful sleep.

Shiatsu On the Floor

Traditional Shiatsu is similar to thai massage only it uses the Merdians of Traditional Chinese Medicine / Acupuncture.  It Uses finger pressure to work the entire meridian along with passive stretching to balance the energy and promote healing in the body.

Shiatsu on the Table
