Research suggests that Musculoskeletal pain is more common now than it was 40 years ago. Why? In our busy lifestyles we drive more, sit more at work using computers and people spend more time at home watching TV, playing video games or surfing the web. These sedentary activities cause muscle imbalances and joint dysfunction that you do not even know are there until you try to play a sport, work out or just do gardening or yard work.
Even many avid athletes and those that work out several times a week still have these muscle imbalances from working the same muscle groups all the time for their sports or workouts. This is a set up for injuries such as, rotator cuff injury or shoulder/neck pain, ankle sprains, knee pain ACL tears, headaches, low back pain and much more.
Corrective exercise is great for all ages from High School age to 60's and 70's. Over this age you will want to seek out a specialist trained in Elderly Training but it is great to help prevent falls and increase quality of life and balance.
Corrective exercise can be for someone who has never worked out before no matter what your age, your body can learn to move in a better movement pattern. We can help by taking you from where you are today and progressing you to where you want to be.
We do a thorough assessment of your posture to discern what your restrictions are so we can focus on the muscles that are inhibited and strengthen them to balance your joints and stability. We safely and slowly progress you to the point you want to achieve whether it is simply to be able to walk more balanced and without pain or to achieve maximum performance in an event, these techniques are safe for everyone.
